Our Top 3 Essential Oils

Updated: Jan 14, 2021

Today, there is no shortage of essential oils, from Oregano to exotic blends, each with their own benefit and use. In this blog post, we'll touch on our 3 favorite Essential Oils at Vida Wellness Center for every day use.

Tea tree is also known as Melaleuca alternifolia. This medicinal gem has been used for centuries and is useful for:

  • healing acne

  • treating athlete’s foot and other fungal infections

  • reducing dandruff

  • treating bad breath and killing mouth germs.

  • Insect repellent

  • Congestion and cough due to cold

If you accidentally picked a pimple (because we know you'd never try to pop it yourself - right?!) you can dab some tea tree oil on a cotton swab and place on the pimple. Apply directly to other cuts and scrapes in order to kill germs and promote healthy healing

Lavender is also known as Lavandula angustofolia, and it's one oft he most popular essential oils on the market for it's range of health benefits which include:

  • relaxation

  • skin issues

  • speeding healing

  • improved digestion

  • pain relief

  • reduced inflammation

If you're having trouble sleeping, try putting a few drops of lavender in a diffuser and placing in your room at night. Also if you have a skin rash, lavender can be applied directly to the skin to alleviate skin reactions.

Say goodbye to over-the-counter pharmaceutical digestion medicine! DigestZen® is a magical blend by doTERRA aimed at supporting digestive needs. This natural essential oil blend includes:

  • Peppermint

  • Coriander

  • Ginger

  • Caraway

  • Cardamom

  • Fennel

  • Anise

Add a drop or two in a glass of sparkling water to soothe upset stomach. Can also be diluted with a carrier oil and rubbed on the stomach and soles of the feet.

There are a variety of different essential oil companies, but it's important to research what the process of these companies are to ensure the purest and most natural form of essential oils.

After trying a number of different brands, our personal favorite is doTERRA.
